How can we help you?

What is a medical spa?

The American Med Spa Association defines a medical spa (also known as a med spa or medi-spa) as having four core elements: (1) performs non-invasive/non-surgical aesthetic medical services (i.e., light and laser treatments, Injectables such as Botox, Juvederm, chemical peels, acne treatments ); (2) is under the general supervision of a licensed physician; (3) medical services are performed by trained, experienced and qualified practitioners; and (4) have onsite supervision by a licensed healthcare professional. Skin365 meets all of these criteria and is registered with the Medical Board of California, Board of Registered Nursing, and the Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.

Consultation Questions

Why do I need an initial consultation at Skin365 if I have had treatments done at another medical spa before?

California law requires all new patients be seen or have a conversation with a medical spa’s doctor before treatments take place. It is important that that we discuss your previous treatments and outcomes with you, review your medical history, and take a full set of photos for use as a baseline to reference your progression. In addition, we want to ensure we create a treatment plan that meets your needs and expectations.

Can I have a consultation and treatment the same day?

Definitely. Your reservation fee will be applied to your treatment that day.

Can I come in for a consultation only?

Yes. A consultation generally lasts about one hour.

Do you charge for a consultation?

Yes, we charge a reservation fee of $100 which is applied to your first treatment.

What if I don’t have a treatment done, can I get my reservation fee refunded?

The reservation fee of $100 reserves our practitioners time just for you. We do not refund the fee unless you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time or a Skin365 practitioner determines that we are unable to help you with your concerns. The reservation fee can be applied to any cosmetic procedure, skincare treatment, and/or skincare product we offer.

What is your cancellation policy?

As a courtesy to other patients and our practitioners, we require cancellations and reschedules be made 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. A $100 fee will be charged for late cancellations, late reschedules, and no shows.

Treatment Questions

How can I prep for my injection?

It is best to have injections done at least two weeks before an event in case of bruising or swelling. Ten days before your treatment it is recommended to quit taking any blood thinners such as: Vitamin E, turmeric, fish oil, omegas, garlic, aspirin, ibuprofen, Aleve, Midol, Advil, naproxen, and some prescriptions. Do not quit taking prescription medications without consulting your doctor first. It is also recommended to avoid alcoholic beverages 72 hours before your procedure and 24 hours after your procedure, to minimize any bruising and swelling. Taking arnica and bromelain 48 hours before your procedure is also recommended to further decrease bruising and swelling.

How quickly will I see the effects of my treatment?

As each individual treatment is unique, each procedure has a different effective period. Some treatments are effective immediately, while others may take time for you to see the results. The effects will be explained during the consultation.

Can I exercise or go to my yoga class after my treatment?

We recommend waiting at least 24 hours after your treatment to do any form of exercise.

Can I get Botox if I am pregnant or breast feeding?

At Skin365, we do not treat women with Botox or any other injectable product who are pregnant or breast feeding.

Will I need time off work?

Generally, no—there is little or no downtime. However, for some problematic conditions some time off may be recommended. Your Skin365 practitioner will discuss potential downtime with you.

Can I travel after I have a treatment done?

We have a 3-day no air travel policy after receiving a filler treatment. Complications are rare but they can occur. If you are a long distance away or out of the country it may be difficult, if not impossible, to find a doctor to see you. If you are local, we can see you at our office and provide the necessary intervention needed to prevent a complication from becoming worse.

Can I get a massage after my treatment?

We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks after a filler treatment and at least 24 hours after a Botox/Dysport treatment before getting a massage.

Do the procedures hurt?

One of the main advantages of non-surgical treatment is that there is very little discomfort involved with the process. Our technique is designed to minimize any possible discomfort. Local or topical anesthetic will be provided for any treatments that may cause discomfort.

What are the risks?

Problems associated with non-surgical cosmetic treatments tend to be relatively minor and temporary. However, as each treatment is different potential risks and side effects will be explained in depth during your consultation.

Do you remove skin tags or moles?

We do not do these procedures in our office but Dr. Wethe, our medical director, does this in his plastic surgery office. Please call (310) 784-8389 for additional information and to make an appointment.

Why doesn’t Skin365 offer CoolSculpt?

Our Medical Director, Dr. Wethe, a highly respected plastic, cosmetic, and reconstructive surgeon, provides liposuction which has a much higher success rate than CoolSculpt.

Who is the best practitioner to see for an injectable?

We have three advanced injectors who are all highly trained and skilled.

How will I look after my Botox or Dysport treatment?

You could have small bumps at the injection site but they should subside within an hour after your treatment.

Can I do laser and filler treatments on the same day?

They should be done at least two weeks apart.

Can I do Botox/Dysport and dermaplaning treatments on the same day?

Yes, as long as the dermaplaning is done before your Botox/Dysport treatment.

How long will my lip filler last?

Generally results last 4-6 months.

How long does Botox or Dysport last?

Botox lasts 3-4 months.

How much down time is there with a laser treatment?

It depends on the type of laser treatment. Some have minimal down time (1-3 days) while others can have up to 2 weeks recovery time. Your Skin365 practitioner will go over this information prior to your procedure.

How much down time is there with medical microneedling?

Generally 2-5 days.

What kind of facials do you offer?
