MICRONEEDLING

At Skin365®, we believe microneedling is more than creating micro-channels in the skin — it is a science-based treatment designed to stimulate the skin’s natural repair process and support healthier, stronger, more youthful-looking skin.

Our microneedling treatments follow the advanced principles developed by Dr. Des Fernandes, the pioneer of medical microneedling and founder of Environ Skin Care. Unlike many standard microneedling treatments, our protocols focus on proper skin preparation, controlled treatment techniques, and post-procedure support to optimize your skin’s healing response.

We offer two levels of medical microneedling performed by experienced medical professionals:

Advanced Medical Microneedling with Dr. Jeanette Oka, MD

Our Advanced Medical Microneedling treatment is performed by Jeanette Oka, MD and utilizes the original roller technique developed by Dr. Des Fernandes.

Medical Microneedling with Nurse Elizabeth, RN

Our Medical Microneedling treatment is performed by Elizabeth using the advanced precision of a medical microneedling pen device.

Why 'Vitamin A' Preparation Is Essential Before Medical Microneedling

At Skin365®, we believe the best microneedling results begin before the treatment ever takes place.

Following the philosophy of Dr. Des Fernandes, we emphasize the importance of preparing the skin with Vitamin A before performing medical microneedling. Healthy skin responds better to controlled injury, heals more effectively, and is better equipped to produce high-quality collagen.

Vitamin A is one of the most important nutrients for maintaining youthful, resilient skin. When applied topically, Vitamin A supports normal skin cell renewal, helps stimulate fibroblast activity, and encourages the production of collagen and elastin — the structural proteins responsible for firmness, strength, and elasticity.

Why We Recommend Vitamin A Pre-Treatment

Many offices perform microneedling without proper skin preparation. At Skin365®, we take a different approach.

We recommend gradually preparing the skin with Vitamin A before treatment to:

  • Strengthen and normalize the skin before creating controlled micro-injury
  • Support healthier collagen production
  • Improve overall skin quality and resilience
  • Encourage a more organized healing response
  • Help reduce the risk of abnormal scar formation
  • Optimize your skin’s ability to remodel and regenerate

Vitamin A preparation is not about making the skin more sensitive — it is about creating healthier skin that can respond appropriately to the microneedling process.

The Skin365 Difference

Our medical microneedling protocols are based on the pioneering work of Dr. Des Fernandes, who introduced the concept that microneedling results are enhanced when combined with proper skin preparation and advanced skincare support.

By combining:

✓ Physician-led advanced microneedling techniques

✓ Environ Vitamin A skin preparation

✓ Environ TCA Cool Peel

✓ Environ AprèsCIT™ peptides

✓ Customized medical-grade skincare guidance

We focus on improving the health of the skin — not simply performing a procedure.

Healthy skin creates the foundation for beautiful results.

All About Microneedling

 What Is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that stimulates collagen and elastin production. Fine needles create tiny micro-injuries in the skin, triggering the body’s natural healing response. With minimal downtime, microneedling provides natural, long-lasting skin rejuvenation.

What are the benefits?

✔ Improve skin texture and tone

✔ Reduce fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging

✔ Minimize acne scars, stretch marks, and hyperpigmentation

✔ Enhance the absorption of skincare products

How many treatments will I need for optimal results?

The number of sessions varies based on your skin concerns:

  • General skin rejuvenation: 4-6 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart

  • Acne scars & deeper wrinkles: 4-6 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart

  • Stretch marks or significant scarring: 6+ sessions, spaced 6 weeks apart

Your provider will determine whether Rapid Microneedling or Monthly Microneedling is best for your needs.

Do I Need to Prepare My Skin?

Yes! Vitamin A is essential for prepping the skin before microneedling. Applying it for 6-8 weeks prior to treatment:

✔ Strengthens the skin barrier

✔ Enhances collagen production

✔ Speeds up healing and minimizes inflammation

✔ Reduces the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation

If you have sensitivity to Vitamin A (Retinol, Retin A), we recommend using AnteAGE MD Biosome System as an alternative, which includes Bakuchiol—a plant-derived retinol alternative that stimulates collagen, reduces wrinkles, evens skin tone, and soothes the skin without irritation.

Does Microneedling Hurt?

With proper numbing, the treatment is comfortable. You can relax, nap, or work while numbing takes effect. Each patient's sensitivity varies, but our medical providers ensure your comfort throughout.

What Happens During The Treatment?
  1. Numbing: You’ll arrive early for topical anesthetic application in-office (we do not provide take-home numbing).
  2. Cleansing: Your skin will be triple-cleansed.
  3. Microneedling: A fine-needle instrument creates tiny punctures, triggering collagen production.
  4. Post-Treatment Care: A calming, cool cream is applied, along with serums (peptides, vitamin serums, or pigment treatments, customized during consultation).
When do I see results?

Collagen production takes time—your best results appear 4-6 months post-treatment, after two full skin turnover cycles.
